Forget about the Achilles heel - the Nigerian's heel creates magic in La Liga

Apart from the six-goal thriller-goal, the La Liga duel between Osasuna and Valencia will be remembered by the Super Eagles' international's outstanding heel touch goal, which brought a point to the Bats in the dying minutes

Everyone has probably heard of the Achilles heel. Named after a Greek mythical hero, it represents a small vulnerability or weakness that can ultimately lead to failure. But have you ever heard of the Nigerian heel? Well, after what Valencia striker Umar Sadiq did last night, you won't be able to forget about it.

The Bats were playing Osasuna at Estadio El Sadar in Pamplona and - following an absolute "madness" and a genuine thriller - were 3-2 down when the Super Eagles' international took matters into his own hands or, better said, his own heel.

Namely, in the 87th minute, in one of Valencia's last attempts to snatch a vital point - as they are currently fighting hard to survive in Spain's top tier - the Bats' got the equalizer, while football got a marvellous masterpiece and undoubtedly a potential candidate for the FIFA Puskas Award.

Sergi Canos sent a cross from the left flank inside, and Sadiq executed a beautiful heel touch, sending the ball towards the bottom left corner of Osasuna's goal. It rebounded off the post and ended up behind Sergio Herrera's back, bringing immense joy to the two-time (2000 and 2001) UEFA Champions League finalists.
