Even though the Catalans' boss has a strict rule regarding tardiness, the sporting director made him "turn a blind eye" to Yamal's breach and let him start against PSG
Quod licet Iovi, non licet bovi, says a popular Latin phrase. Translated to English, it means "What is permitted to Jupiter is not permitted to a bull."
In the following story, Lamine Yamal is Jupiter, and bulls are numerous: Inaki Pena, Raphinha, Jules Kounde...
Some of the main reasons Hansi Flick has transformed Barcelona into a ruthless crushing machine are discipline and strict rules, which have applied to everyone. Until recently, when Yamal got away without the manager's usual punishment for being late to a team meeting. On the other hand, the trio mentioned above had to face and bear the punishment.
Flick allegedly intended to leave the youngster out of the XI in the Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain, but then Barca's sporting director Deco intervened and made the manager change his mind.
Several Spanish media - ElNacional.cat, Cadena SER, and El Larguero - confirmed the information about the Portuguese and German's dispute over the Yamal case, and Deco apparently had the last word, which Flick didn't like at all.

In the end, the Catalans lost to the injury-ridden PSG despite the 18-year-old's involvement, as he clocked 90 minutes, but also aggravated his groin injury.
Cadena SER additionally claims that everyone at Camp Nou is worried about Yamal's private life, which could easily make him lose focus. However, their actions don't reflect that concern, as looking the other way when he breaks the coach's rules can only have a detrimental effect on him.
