Sammy Okoth became the fifth coach to leave his job since the season began.

osaAFC Leopards finally recorded their first victory of the season with a slim 1-0 win at Nzoia Sugar FC on Sunday.

Brian Yakhama's first-half penalty did the trick for the coach's Tomas Trucha side, which had endured a seven-game winless streak.

Shabana FC coach Sammy Okoth threw in the towel after a humiliating 4-0 drubbing by the Ulinzi Stars on the day.

The former Zoo FC coach has found life in the FKF Premier League rough, managing a single victory, three losses, and four draws.

'Maybe let somebody else come and do the job," he offered after the game.

Posta Rangers bounced back with an emphatic 2-0 win over Bandari FC to open a three-point gap at the top.

The Mailmen have had a good start to the season, winning six out of their eight fixtures while drawing one and losing one.

Despite dropping points against Bidco United in a frustrating 0-0 draw at Kasarani Stadium, Gor Mahia remains the only unbeaten side in the league.

Azam lenses zoom wide.

The league's broadcast partner, Azam TV, for the first time ventured outside Nairobi with two live productions from Muhoroni and Bungoma.

The first game to be broadcast live was a tie between Muhoroni Youth and Murang'a Seal played at Muhoroni Stadium on Saturday.

A day later, at Sudi Stadium in Bungoma, the clash between Nzoia Sugar and the AFC Leopards was also carried live.

Unlike other past broadcasters who hardly ventured outside Nairobi, Azam is taking their lenses where fans are.

The only challenge now is for those in charge of stadiums, especially those outside the capital, to revamp them and make them suitable and presentable for live matches.

Unforgiving FKF Premier League

Okoth became the fifth coach to leave his job since the season began, showing just how tough the campaign is getting.

Okoth has guided Shabana back to the top tier in close to two decades but has struggled to replicate the same success he enjoyed in the National Super League (NSL).

Before him, Police FC parted ways with Francis Baraza and hired former Gor Mahia Croatian coach Zdravko Logarusic to replace him.

Leopards, on the other hand, dismissed Tom Juma, replacing him with Trucha. Sofapaka and Bandari axed Francis Haringingo and Twahir Muhiddin and replaced them with Ezekiel Akwana and Francis Baraza respectively.
