The Dockers, who had failed to win in five months, stretching back to April 26, 2025, scored through Joseph Onyango, Geoffrey Ojunga and Amza Ngamchia, while Joe Waithira grabbed a consolation for Seal.

The crucial win, their first of the 2025/26 season, comes just days after the club parted ways with head coach Ken Odhiambo, who became the first managerial casualty of the new campaign.

Odhiambo’s dismissal followed last weekend’s 1-0 home defeat to Shabana FC, where Bandari dominated long spells but were undone by a second-half strike from Brian Michira.

The club’s opening match had ended in a goalless draw against Kariobangi Sharks.

Saturday’s win brought relief to the coastal faithful, who had grown restless after the team’s prolonged slump that saw them draw six times and lose twice since their last victory in a 2-1 win over Kariobangi Sharks in Nairobi on Saturday, 26 April.

At Mbaraki, things initially looked bleak for the hosts when Murang’a Seal struck in the seventh minute.

Bandari responded swiftly as former Mwatate United playmaker Ojunga weaved past defenders to level matters in the 15th minute.

Under interim coach John Baraza, the Dockers took control of the contest.

Ngamchia netted his first FKFPL goal in the 33rd minute to hand Bandari the lead before Onyango sealed the win in the 77th minute, sparking celebrations among the home fans.

The victory lifted Bandari to fifth place on the 18-team standings with four points, while Murang’a Seal slipped to 11th with three points.

The 2025/26 FKFPL campaign has been spiced up by a record Ksh20 million prize purse, with the champions set to receive Ksh15 million, runners-up Ksh3 million, and the third-placed team Ksh2 million.

The cash incentives are expected to make the title race more competitive, breaking the decade-long dominance of Gor Mahia and Tusker before Kenya Police’s resurgence last season.
