FKFPL: AFC Leopards face unbeaten Posta as Homeboyz take on Sofapaka

Reading Time: 3min | Fri. 03.10.25. | 08:42

Ingwe, after a dull opening game of the season, come up against the early league pacesetters who picked all six points in their duels last season

A double-header at Dandora Stadium will kick things off on Friday, 3 October, as the 2025-2026 FKF Premier League enters Round Four.

Kicking off a busy weekend—which will also be the last piece of action before the October international friendlies—will be a lunchtime duel between Sofapaka and Kakamega Homeboyz, before a tasty battle between AFC Leopards and joint leaders Posta Rangers at 1600 EAT.

Having begun their season rather underwhelmingly with a barren draw against Mara Sugar, Patrick Odhaimbo’s Homeboyz will aim for more fruitful travels as they entertain Ezekiel Akwana’s Sofapaka, who are also not yet off the mark despite playing two games already.

A worthy point for Batoto Ba Mungu against AFC Leopards was quickly followed by a humbling loss to record league champions Gor Mahia last weekend, a result that had their manager rail against the application of some of his players.

Akwana hopes his boys will be on their best behavior in familiar surroundings and in a fixture that they have done decently in of late.

Sofapaka, who picked four points from Homeboyz last season, last suffered a defeat to Abana Beingo in November 2023, and you would have to go a further two years back (July 2021), to find their other victory.

With five new names having already made their debuts and settled in, Odhiambo’s side will pose a significant challenge. Kickoff is at 1300 EAT live on Azam TV.

The main event, however, will get the fans going, with early league pacesetters Posta Rangers getting another test to their credentials against a side that needs a lift.

Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo, after engineering Premier League survival for The Mailmen last season, has been in the headlines for good reason this term, having assembled a squad that is currently one of four sides yet to drop points.

A comeback win against Mathare was quickly followed by a dominant win over Tusker, but if Posta’s run is to be taken seriously—they have been here before—then victory over the hungry Leopards will do just that.

After all, Omollo’s side claimed all six points without conceding to Leopards last season.

That fact, plus a lackluster show against Sofapaka on their opening weekend, gives Ingwe all the reason to come out firing.

“In our first match, we didn’t play well but got a point,” Leopards skipper Ken Owino, who in the past featured for Posta, said on Thursday. “We have rectified the areas we did not do well, and all that matters for us is three points.”

Their fanbase will hope they do. Kickoff is at 1600 EAT, also live on Azam TV.
