A total of fourteen matches were staged in the third tier over the weekend
Football Kenya Federation Division One round two served up a tremendous dose of narrative, some of which may prove costly in defining the involved club's season.
Let's dive straight into the weekend's action with big winners and losers.
After narrowly missing out on National Super League promotion last term, Ali Gaucho charges Young Bulls started the season on a high note overpowering league debutants Spitfire FC at their own backyard the Sina Makosa Ground.
Goals from Mramba Stephen and Michael Shaban were enough for the Community powered club to register their first points of the season.
At Ng'enda grounds, Equity FC once again announced themselves as promotion favorites coming from behind to beat the returning Fortune Sacco 3-2 and take control of the third-tier league on four points
It was quite an impressive Weekend for the varsity boys Zetech Titans as they got the season underway with a narrow 1-0 victory over Olympic Pirates thanks to Brian Njogu 52nd minute strike.
Elsewhere, Victor Ochieng, Francis Mwangi and Wayne Ndegwa strikes were enough for Ruiru Hot Stars to start the season with an emphatic win over the slum boys Kibra United and send early promotion battle signals.
Debutants Kabati Youth while playing at Mukerenju Primary grounds obliterated military side Kenya Navy 3-1 under the guidance of Evans Amuoka to move into the top four of the league standings. Alimace Mogeni, Amos Mbogo and Joshua Abuya were all on the score sheet for Kabati.
In other Zone A matches staged over the weekend, Kibera Soccer got the better part of newly renamed Malindi United handing them a 2-1 beating with Embu based 3K worsting Simba Apparel start to life in the third tier with a 1-0 trouncing.
In Zone B, it was a fairytale for Transfoc and GFE 105 as they vanquished their weekend oppositions to move joint top of the league standings.
GFE fresh from Green Commandos win, sunk league favorites APS Bomet 2-0 in a match played at Eldoret Showground while a rejuvenated Transfoc handed Bungoma Superstars their first defeat of the season at Equip College grounds, Kitale.
Plantation farmers Vegpro FC were the only other side to pick a win in Zone B matches as they got the better part of Bondo United in a 2-1 victory.
Other matches ended in a stalemate as Muhoroni Young held St. Jospeh's Youth to a 1-1 draw in Nakuru, Compel FC played out a barren draw against Green Commandos while Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA) came twice from behind to pick a point against Kiminini Combined at Ndura Sports Complex.
