Fight for top, under-fire manager, and battle against the drop dominates FKFPL Saturday action

Reading Time: 3min | Sat. 26.04.25. | 08:50

The five games will be staged in three different grounds, with early kickoffs set for 1300 EAT

An action-filled Saturday, 26 April, will see five matches on the cards as the league enters round 28.

Headlining the bill is second-placed Kenya Police seeking to put to bed a two-game slide and show their title credentials, plus a bottom-of-the-table scrap that will see all four basement sides in action.

Kenya Police vs KCB

It's unfamiliar grounds now for Kenya Police, as their long run at the top of the standings came to an end last weekend, meaning they have to take the role of chaser.

Two straight games without a win ushers them to a must-win tie against KCB, scheduled for a 1500 EAT kickoff at St. Sebastian Park in Murang’a.

In a not-so-easy run-in ahead of them, facing a fairly inconsistent Bankers will perhaps offer them a chance to wrestle back control and stage a weekend 'hate-watch.'

Kariobangi Sharks vs Bandari

A managerial position will be on the line as the Dockers travel to Dandora to face Kariobangi Sharks in an early lunchtime kickoff.

Mozzart Sport reported this week that the Bandari top brass had given their coach, Ken Odhiambo “one more chance” to prove why he needs to be in-situ after engineering a slide down the standings.

Odhiambo’s Bandari have only won once since mid-February, and also exited the cup at home.

Currently in seventh-place, Bandari will need to “know how to score” against a Sharks team that is unbeaten in their last five.

Scrap at the bottom

The look at the bottom of the table could look different by close of business on Saturday, as all of Nairobi City Stars, Murang’a Seal, Posta Rangers and Bidco United get onto the field.

The latter, off a thrilling 2-0 victory over Mathare United, will be without their head coach Anthony Akhulia as they plot to roast an AFC Leopards side on horrid form.

Bottom-placed City Stars, on the other hand, will face the tough task of sneaking past an imperious Shabana, who are on a run of three straight wins, and on a run of six games without defeat.

Murang’a Seal will in another lunch-time kickoff at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos look to end their 12-game winless run as they match up with a hungry Posta Rangers, also bidding to pull clear of the red-zone.
