Although she has not scored much this season and is not among the league’s top scorers, Mboya remains one of the most sought-after young forwards, and Police have now secured her services.
The player departs Kibera Soccer after six months, having joined them from National Women’s Super League (NWSL) side Sunderland Samba. Police announced her arrival on social media with a hyped message:
“Her name is Faith Mboya, but the world calls her Fefeh, the El Matador. She is an attacker by position and a destroyer of defenses by destiny. Faithnomenal in belief, flamboyant in expression, and ambidextrous in execution, left or right, the outcome is always the same.”
Kibera Soccer also took to social media to confirm her exit and wish her well at her new club:
“Striker Faith Mboya's stay with us has come to an end as she joins Kenya Police Bullets FC. We take this opportunity to thank her for her immense service to the club and deeply appreciate all the contributions she has made over the past year. We wish her all the best in her new home.”
At Bullets, Mboya reunites with her former teammate Medina Abubakar, with whom she played at Kibera Soccer and her former coach at Kibera, David Bujego, who is now in charge at Police.
The defending league champions are currently on top of the Women’s Premier League table with 25 points from 11 matches, one point ahead of second-placed Vihiga Queens.
