This was his first goal in the Thai FA Cup.
Kenyan international Eric Johana netted in successive games for Muangthong United as they registered a resounding 7-1 win over Hippo FC in the Round 64 of the Thai FA Cup earlier today.
The former Mathare United midfielder also claimed a goal in the 5-0 whitewash over Lamphun Warrior in the Thai Premier League on Sunday.
Since returning from an injury that had kept him out for two games, Johana has returned a different beast as he supplied an assist upon his return against PT Prachuap FC.
Muangthong posted a bright start to the game and with the referee’s kick-off whistle still sounding in the stadium, Phumin Kaewta put them ahead in the second minute.
Johana, who was trusted with a start in the game for the first time since mid-October, doubled Muangthong’s lead in the 26th minute.
Ekanit Panya missed his spot-kick in the 44th minute but he was on hand to pounce on the rebound and ensure Muangthong went into the halftime break with a 3-0 lead.
Muangthong continued to press their foot on the gas as they put the game beyond Hippo in the 51st minute through Adisak Kraisorn.
Korawich Tasa grabbed a brace with his first coming at the stroke of the hour mark and completed his double 12 minutes later.
Muangthong showed no mercy as Punnawat Chote-jirachaithon drilled the final nail in Hippo’s coffin as Chawan Pansawat grabbed the consolation goal in the 92nd minute.
