Emerse FaƩ has been officially appointed as the head coach of the Ivory Coast national football team, as announced by the president of the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF), Idriss Diallo, on Monday.
The confirmation came at the Orange CƓte d'Ivoire headquarters in Abidjan, marking the culmination of a brief interim period.

Following the departure of Jean-Louis Gasset, FaƩ assumed the role of interim coach and garnered widespread acclaim for his adept management of the team. Under his guidance, the Ivorian squad underwent a remarkable transformation, culminating in their victory at the AFCON 2023 tournament.
In just four matches at the helm of the Elephants, FaƩ orchestrated a remarkable achievement, clinching the 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations. The team secured two victories and two draws in regulation time, including one qualification via penalties and another in overtime.
