Even though the player would like to stay, the Catalans are reportedly willing to negotiate with the Blues
After being one of the most active sides in the ongoing transfer window, Chelsea want to end it in style, with a bombastic reinforcement, and they have found one in Barcelona!
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Blues didn't waste time and already sent an offer for one of the Catalans' gems, Fermin Lopez! However, the €40 million bid is allegedly unacceptable for the La Liga side, as Barca demand €30 million more.

However, it's vague whether the Spanish club is just trying to drive up the player's price, as, considering their financial situation and Fermin's lack of minutes, the sale would be a completely logical move.
The player himself would like to stay at Camp Nou. After all, he's a La Masia child, but his status on Hansi Flick's team is far from satisfactory. With the competition embodied in Dani Olmo and the newcomer Marcus Rashford, Fermin will hardly get the playing time he wants, so joining Chelsea could turn out to be beneficial for him.
Talking to the media ahead of Barca's clash against Rayo Vallecano (22.30), Flick briefly touched on the 22-year-old's situation.
"For now, he's here. I've spoken with him, and I think he'll stay. I'll be very happy when the transfer window closes. His heart is at Barca. He's at home," the German said via Mundo Deportivo.
In the end, despite the initial "misunderstanding" regarding the price, this transfer is still very realistic to happen, as both Barca and Chelsea would benefit from it and, more importantly, they are both in a rush.
The Catalans could earn a decent amount in the dying minutes of the transfer window by selling a not-so-important cog in Flick's machinery, while the Blues need to act instantly after Tottenham "stole" Xavi Simons from under their nose.
