Her arrival came only weeks after helping BK Häcken win the 2025/26 UEFA Women's Europa Cup, securing the Swedish club's first-ever European title in women's football

Fresh from making history with Swedish giants BK Häcken, Finnish international Paulina Nyström spent four days in Kenya sharing her experiences with Kahawa Pride FC in a visit designed to inspire players and strengthen football development.

The 24-year-old forward arrived in Nairobi on Friday, 3 July, kicking off a packed program that saw her engage with the club's senior teams, youth players, and women's football stakeholders.

Nyström wasted little time settling in, heading straight to Kamiti Grounds to watch the Alphas in training, where she met players and members of the technical bench while getting an introduction to the club's football philosophy.

Her arrival came only weeks after helping BK Häcken win the 2025/26 UEFA Women's Europa Cup, securing the Swedish club's first-ever European title in women's football.

Having joined Häcken from Juventus in July 2024, Nyström has become part of one of Europe's emerging success stories.

Rather than limiting her stay to ceremonial appearances, the Finnish international immersed herself in every level of Kahawa Pride's football structure.

On Saturday, 4 July, she joined the Lionesses during their training session before touring the club's facilities alongside players from both the men's and women's teams.

She later travelled to Mahiga Grounds, where she watched the Cubs train, allowing her to observe the club's youth development program at close range.

The visit continued on Sunday, 5 July, when Nyström attended Kahawa Pride's FKF Nairobi East Regional League match against Fortune Kinderen at Mwangaza Primary School, watching the side compete while interacting with players and supporters.

Her final day in Kenya shifted attention from the pitch to the future of the women's game.

On Monday, 6 July, Nyström attended a panel discussion on the growth and development of women's football in Kenya.

The session was moderated by sports lawyer Khayran Noor and featured Kahawa Pride Director of Football and former Harambee Starlets forward Neddy Atieno, Ulinzi Starlets captain and Harambee Starlets defender Diana Shakava, as well as performance psychologist Melissa Martin.

The discussion focused on player welfare, leadership, sustainable development structures, and creating more opportunities for women and girls in football.

For Kahawa Pride, the visit reflected the club's ambition to expose its players to international standards, build meaningful football partnerships, and encourage the exchange of ideas that can contribute to long-term development.

Nyström herself arrived with an impressive football résumé.

During her time at Juventus, she entered the club's history books by scoring after just 11 seconds against AC Milan in May 2023, the fastest goal ever scored by a Juventus Women's player in any competition.

Since joining BK Häcken, she has also played alongside Swedish striker Felicia Schröder, whose recent move to Real Madrid for a reported £1.16 million made her the most expensive player in the history of women's football, eclipsing the previous record set by United States defender Naomi Girma.

Although born in Sweden, Nyström switched her international allegiance to Finland in late 2025.

After making her senior debut in November, she scored her first international goal five months later in Finland's 4-2 FIFA Women's World Cup qualifying victory over Slovakia.
