Dennis Oliech Cup: Bundes and Bul through to quarterfinals

With the Sunday 15 August final edging ever so close, Bundes and Bul Young Star advanced to the quarter-finals of the Dennis Oliech Cup after eliminating Mwat and Infinity FC respectively
The clash pitting Mwat and Bundes was a Dagoretti Derby with Bundes arriving into the clash after a hotly contested Round of 32 clash against Upper Karen that needed three ties to separate both teams.

This is after the second leg of the Round of 32 failed to last the full 90 minutes as both Bundes and Upper Karen opted to settle the clash in a one-off knockout match that was decided by a penalty.
Bundes were on the ascendency from the onset and opened the scoring in the 17th minute courtesy of a goal from Tony Baraza as their early dominance paid off.
The Dagoretti-based side was enjoying a huge backing from the fans who were packed to the rafters at the NCC Grounds doubled their lead in the 56th minute through Stephen Iganji.
Bundes proved too strong in the contest as Kevin Sanya drilled the final nail in Mwat’s coffin in the 74th minute to ensure their progression to the quarter-finals.

In the other Round of 16 match of the day, a solitary goal from Edward Mungai in the 48th minute was enough for Bul Young Star to send Githurai based Infinity FC home.
Ngong-based Bul Young and Bundes will now join, FIFA Best, Mashimoni FC, DN Hotstars, Makarios III, Bright Stars and Santiago in the quarter-finals.
