Donnarumma is playing poker – and wants to leave PSG empty-handed, the club believes!

A tense transfer standoff is brewing in Paris. PSG chiefs are convinced Gianluigi Donnarumma is deliberately maneuvering to slash his transfer fee, ensuring that the lion’s share of any deal ends up in his own pocket via wages and signing bonuses.

According to transfer specialist Duncan Castles (Sunday Times), the Italian keeper wants most of the potential transfer package directed to him – leaving PSG with as little as possible.

The Parisians see it as a calculated power move. Donnarumma has already turned down an extension and is now hinting he might run down his deal until 2026 before walking away for free – just as he did when leaving AC Milan. PSG, however, is determined not to let history repeat itself.

This standoff could play into Manchester United’s hands. The English giants are on the hunt for Andre Onana’s replacement and have already reached out to Paris. Coach Ruben Amorim is keen to bring Donnarumma in, and according to Castles, United will push forward once fresh funds come in from player sales. PSG has already lined up a replacement: Lucas Chevalier, in a deal worth 40 million euros plus bonuses. Strangely, once Chevalier was targeted, Donnarumma suddenly signaled a willingness to stay.

But the decision in Paris is final – Donnarumma can leave, but not for free. If he digs in, this summer’s market could turn into a fiery standoff. While his agent Vincenzo Raiola hails him as the “best goalkeeper in the world” and a man “worthy of the Ballon d’Or,” PSG suspects his real prize isn’t silverware – it’s a bigger payday.
