De Zerbi’s rebuild starts from Liverpool – Spurs go after Robertson again

The Scottish international was already on Tottenham’s radar once, but now they will go all out to bring him into their ranks
He failed three months ago, and that’s why he will try again. Tottenham will return this summer for their long-time target Andrew Robertson, reports The Athletic.
The London club already attempted to sign the Scotland international in mid-January for a symbolic fee, but the move fell through. Robertson did not push for a transfer, and Liverpool were unwilling to let him go in the middle of the season, so the former Hull City defender stayed at Anfield to see out his contract.

However, his deal expires at the end of the season, and Liverpool confirmed yesterday that he will not sign a new one, meaning he will leave the Reds after nine seasons.
That news alerted numerous clubs, not only in England but across Europe—including Tottenham, who have not cooled their interest in signing the Scotland captain. Although it is still unclear which division they will compete in next season, the club is already laying the groundwork. They recently resolved the managerial situation by appointing Roberto De Zerbi and are now looking to strengthen the squad.
In Robertson’s case, the groundwork was already done in the winter, and according to The Athletic, Tottenham are in pole position to secure his signature despite interest from other clubs.
The Scot’s preference is to remain in the Premier League, and he would gladly join the North London side this summer—provided they retain their top-flight status. At the moment, they sit 17th with 30 points, one fewer than West Ham, the first team above the relegation zone.
Robertson has enjoyed an extremely successful spell at Liverpool, where he was a key figure in one of the club’s most decorated modern generations. He won the Champions League and two Premier League titles, along with two League Cups and one FA Cup, Community Shield, UEFA Super Cup, and Club World Cup.
We can confirm Andy Robertson will bring his Reds career to an end at the conclusion of the current season.

He will do so as a Liverpool legend ❤️
The left-back joined Liverpool from Hull City for €9 million and, in just under nine seasons, made 373 appearances in all competitions, recording 13 goals and 69 assists. However, following the arrival of Milos Kerkez this summer, he has lost his place in the team and has started only six Premier League matches this season.
