Ronaldo's compatriot Luis Castro is sacked at Al-Nassr
Al-Nassr was nowhere near the levels of their biggest rival, Al-Hilal, in the previous season of the Saudi Pro League, trailing 14 points at the end of the last season.
After Cristiano Ronaldo's team started the new season with just five out of possible nine points, coach Luis Castro reached the dead end.
Interestingly, only a day after the Portuguese manager said that he had never been fired in his career, the club sacked him. A 1-1 draw in the Asian Champions League first-round against Al-Shorta SC from Iraq was the definite reason for break up.

After the Castro's dismissal, the question remains who'll be his successor. The top contender, at least per Italian media, is former AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli, but that's not the end of the list of potential candidates. It also features ex-Barca's coach Xavi, former Chelsea and Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel and apparently until-recent Porto tactician Sergio Conceicao.
Al-Nassr spent almost €100m during the recent transfer window, but the season didn't start the desired way. That's why they're looking for an expert capable of putting together a championship puzzle.
