The son of the famous footballer will begin his senior career where his father started his rise to the top
Maximilian Ibrahimovic (20), son of legendary Zlatan Ibrahimovic, is following in his father’s footsteps and will take his first serious steps in senior football — at Ajax.
The young striker is essentially starting his professional career at the very club where his father began his rise to global football fame, after Milan and Ajax agreed that Ibrahimovic Jr. will spend the rest of the season on loan with the Amsterdam “lancers.”

Deal done on initial loan with buy option clause, as Telegraaf reported on Friday.

The symbolism is almost complete — both Zlatan and Maximilian spent their youth careers outside Amsterdam. While Zlatan developed in Malmo, his son took his first footballing steps in Milan, and now, just like his father, he will aim to establish himself in Ajax’s colors.
At Ajax, Maximilian is expected to get his first senior minutes and showcase the potential he displayed in the youth ranks. Should he impress the Dutch club’s coaching staff, there is a possibility that Milan and Ajax could agree on a permanent transfer.

Since his career is only beginning, it’s realistic that the “Rossoneri” might consider another loan next summer to ensure the young Ibrahimovic gets continuity and room to develop. Much, however, will depend on his performances at Ajax.
