The 22-year-old Harambee Stars international will become the first-ever player from Kenya at the iconic London club

Collins Sichenje is on the verge of a career-defining move, as only passing the medicals separates him from joining the legendary English side, Charlton Athletic!

The Harambee Stars international, who spent the previous season and a half with the Serbian side Vojvodina, will thus become the first Kenyan at the London club, while his now former team will earn €1.9 million (plus 20% from the subsequent transfer) from his move to England.

Apart from the Addicks, the MLS side Colorado Rapids and a League One club, Luton Town, were also interested in Sichenje, and even offered higher fees, but the 20% mentioned above prevailed in the end.

The 22-year-old centre-back joined Vojvodina from Swedish AIK for €400,000 in September 2024 and the Serbian club has made a significant profit, while the player has progressed remarkably during his spell in Novi Sad, making 52 appearances and scoring one goal.

Throughout his seven-year career, Sichenje also played for Green Commandos and AFC Leopards in Kenya, Greek PAOK B, and Finnish KuPS. Nevertheless, the move to the England's second-tier club is a whole other level.

Charlton currently sit in 19th place in the Championship, three points above the relegation zone, so Sichenje is supposed to be a valuable asset for Nathan Jones' squad in its survival battle.
