Former KCB midfielder Danson Chetambe has revealed he is ready to make his long-awaited return to competitive football after spending over eight months on the sidelines.

However, after months of recovery and intensive personal training, Chetambe says he is now fully fit and eager to resume his career at the highest level of Kenyan football.
The midfielder, who built a reputation as one of the country's most dependable box-to-box players during his spells at Zoo FC and Bandari, disclosed that a minor ankle injury sustained during a personal training session delayed his return to action.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Chetambe explained that although the injury was not severe, he chose not to rush back to competitive football, opting instead to focus on making a complete recovery before pursuing his next opportunity.
"I only picked up a slight ankle injury during a personal training session. I've actually been fully fit for the last four months, but since the leagues were already in progress, I decided to focus completely on my recovery and ensure I was 100 per cent ready for the next opportunity. I truly miss doing what I love most, playing football and I hope God opens the right door for me once again," he said.
Despite his absence from competitive matches, the seasoned midfielder has remained active by training with Busia-based side Real Busia FC, where he has been working on his fitness while preparing for the upcoming campaign.
Chetambe admitted that the extended period away from football was mentally and physically challenging, but believes the break has ultimately helped him reset and return stronger.
"It's been almost eight months since I was last in action, but I'm now fully fit and ready to return to competitive football at the highest level in Kenya. Being out for that long hasn't been easy, but it has also given me the opportunity to refresh my mind, reset, and come back stronger and more focused," he added.
The midfielder's career has been marked by consistency, leadership and tireless performances in the heart of midfield.
He enjoyed memorable spells with Zoo FC and Bandari before later joining KCB, earning recognition as one of the league's most reliable central midfielders.
One of the defining moments of his career came in 2017 when he captained Zoo to their historic maiden promotion to the FKF Premier League, cementing his reputation as a leader both on and off the pitch.
With his fitness concerns now behind him and his determination stronger than ever, Chetambe believes he still has plenty to offer at the top level.
Although the former KCB midfielder remained tight-lipped about his next destination, sources indicate he is attracting interest from FKF Premier League clubs ahead of the new season.
