The Blues have brutally axed the defender ahead of their US pre-season tour

He's been with the club since he was eight, but it seems that Trevoh Chalobah's time at Stamford Bridge is reaching its end.

Chalobah was brutally axed from the Blues' pre-season tour squad, which is travelling to the USA for a series of friendlies.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chalobah was told to stay behind because Chelsea coaching staff - led by new coach Enzo Maresca - believes they are all well-covered at center-back with Wesley Fofana, Axel Disasi, and Tosin Adarabioyo.

The decision to leave Chalobah at home was reportedly a "tough call" for the club, which is open to selling him during this transfer window amidst interest from Crystal Palace.

The 25-year-old spent loan spells at Ipswich, Huddersfield Town, and Lorient.

Chalobah has not shown any desire to leave his boyhood club, but it seems like Chelsea, forced to raise funds from a transfer sale, is desperately trying to force him out the door.

The Blues will face Wrexham, Celtic, Club America, Manchester City and Real Madrid from July 25 to August 7.
