Just a month after the ex-Gunner Takehiro Tomiyasu joined Ajax, his former North London teammate, Oleksandr Zinchenko, could follow in his footsteps
Ajax are experiencing a major crisis and aren't even a shadow of the club they were a couple of years ago - last week, they were eliminated from the Dutch Cup by AZ Alkmaar 6-0! - but the Amsterdam side is still capable of attracting big names.
According to Dutch paper De Telegraaf, the latest one on the verge of joining the four-time European champions is Oleksandr Zinchenko!

The former Manchester City and current Arsenal defender is at the moment on loan at Nottingham Forest. However, as neither the Trees' boss Sean Dyche nor Mikel Arteta seriously count on him, his stint at City Ground will soon be terminated, but the Ukrainian international won't return to London. Instead, he'll move to Amsterdam, where a familiar face will welcome him.
Namely, just a month ago, another former Gunner, Takehiro Tomiyasu, joined Ajax, so the two defenders' paths will cross again. Due to the Japanese's severe injury and Zinchenko's lack of playing time, they played only 23 games together, but that number will undoubtedly increase in the Netherlands.
De Telegraaf claims that the Ukrainian will initially join Ajax on loan until the end of the season, though the Dutch side will try to keep him for a longer period once his deal with Arsenal expires next June. Yet, it will by no means be an easy task, as the popular Zinny will definitely have a number of offers to choose from as a free agent.
