Wojciech Szczesny extends his contract with the Blaugrana for two more years

Wojciech Szczesny has signed a two-year contract extension with Barcelona until 2027.

The 35-year-old Polish keeper joined the Blaugrana as a free agent in October 2024, coming out of retirement, following Marc-Andre ter Stegen's injury.

Szczesny announced his retirement at the start of the 2024-25 season after the end of his contract at Juventus, but returned two months later when Barca offered him a short-term contract.

Szczesny was the club's first-choice after the winter break, playing 30 games for Hansi Flick's team in 2025 in La Liga and Champions League matches. Known for his sympathy for cigarettes, the veteran keeper provided Barca's young squad with the necessary experience, leading them to the La Liga title.

He joined Arsenal as a teenager 2006 from Legia Warsaw, making as many as 181 first-team appearances for the Gunners and winning two FA Cup titles with the Emirates side.

The Pole spent two seasons on loan at Roma before joining Juventus on a permanent deal in 2017. He made 252 appearances for Juventus and won eight major trophies, including three Serie A titles.
