The club stands to earn additional millions in incentives from the firm if they clinch the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) title or reclaim the Mozzart Bet Cup, which they last won on 1 July 2023.
The two entities signed their first partnership deal in December 2020, with subsequent renewals occurring in the following years.
Under the partnership, Homeboyz won the Cup in 2023 and were league runners-up in the annulled 2021–2022 season, amid other solid campaigns that have seen the club establish itself as a formidable force in the top tier.
Speaking after putting pen to paper, Mozzart Bet's Head of Marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility, Frank Okoth, said the club's performance was worth rewarding with an improved package.
"Mozzart is proud to be a reliable partner of Kakamega Homeboyz, and are showing our commitment by extending our partnership for one more year to a tune of Ksh 25 Million. The team has performed well, and this financial boost is aimed at improving their chances of winning this season's FKF Premier League," remarked Okoth.
Club chairman Cleophas Shimanyula expressed his gratitude to Mozzart Bet for their continued support, while vowing to close the gap on Gor Mahia and challenge them for the league title.
“We are grateful to Mozzart Bet for enhancing the deal. This will go a long way in motivating the team to deliver the elusive league title. We performed fairly well in the first leg, and I believe that with the recruits we brought in during the mid-season transfer window, coupled with the availability of finances, we are well-positioned to win the title,” said the administrator.
Wrestling the league title from the hands of Kenya Police FC is not the only mission Shimanyula envisions for the club, as he also hopes the team will reclaim the Mozzart Bet Cup.
“We reaped significant benefits from our last Mozzart Bet Cup triumph in 2023, and we hope to do it again this season. We started well, despite the club mourning the loss of our defender Silas Abungana. We will build on this strong start and fight all the way to the final,” he added.
Homeboyz kicked off their bid for a second Mozzart Bet Cup title with a 5-1 win over Kisumu’s Amani Youth in a Round of 64 match played last weekend at the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium, Mamboleo..
