Barcelona forward may reportedly be back in action for the potential Round-of-16 match if the Selecao reach that stage of the World Cup

While the Brazilian public was closely monitoring Neymar's recovery in the hope that the veteran forward could return to action soon, the Selecao have suffered another injury blow and lost a key player, at least for the remaining group stage game and the potential Round of 32.

According to the Brazilian outlet ge.globo, Raphinha sustained a thigh injury and will be sidelined for approximately two weeks, as per reports from the Selecao camp.

The Barcelona forward felt discomfort in his right thigh during the first half of Brazil's 3-0 win over Haiti and was forced off in the 40th minute.

Further tests revealed the thigh injury and, even though the statement of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) did not provide a return date, ge.globo reports that the injury isn't too serious and that Raphinha could be back in action for the potential Round-of-16 match if the Selecao reach that stage of the World Cup.

"On Saturday, athlete Raphinha underwent an imaging exam that confirmed a muscle injury in the posterior region of his right thigh."

"The player will follow an intensive treatment protocol, monitored by the Brazilian National Team's medical team, aiming for his recovery and return to activities as quickly as possible," the CBF's statement says via ge.globo.

Therefore, the 29-year-old will miss Brazil's final group-stage match against Scotland and is also expected to sit out the potential Round of 32 clash against one of the teams from Group F - currently projected to be the Netherlands, Sweden, or Japan.
