Omollo missed Homeboyz’ midweek encounter against league debutants APS Bomet on Wednesday, 29 October, as he was serving a one-match suspension.
The in-form attacker was sent off after receiving two yellow cards in last weekend’s emphatic 3-1 win over Ulinzi Stars at Bukhungu Stadium.
Having now served his suspension, the forward is available for selection as Patrick Odhiambo’s charges prepare for a crucial test against the 12-time champions on Sunday, 2 November.
The return of the former Nairobi United striker is a timely one for the Kakamega-based outfit, who are keen to maintain their lead at the summit of the 18-team league standings.
Omollo’s influence has been instrumental since returning to action earlier this season after missing the opening fixture to attend to his mother’s burial.
He marked his comeback with a decisive display in the 1-0 victory over Sofapaka before finding the net against his former club, Bidco United, in a commanding 3-1 triumph.
The lethal forward continued his fine form in the Ulinzi Stars match, scoring his second successive goal of the campaign to help Homeboyz secure yet another statement win.
His clinical finishing has been key to Homeboyz’ impressive start, which has seen them collect 13 points from five matches, including four wins and a draw.
Omollo’s return will undoubtedly lift the morale within the Abana Beingo camp as they prepare to face a rejuvenated Tusker side riding high after back-to-back victories over Murang’a Seal and Kariobangi Sharks.
Currently fourth in the league’s top scorers’ chart, one goal behind Brian Michira (Shabana FC), Elly Asieche (Mathare United), and Eric Kapaito (Tusker), Omollo will be eager to continue his scoring streak and possibly climb to the top of the Golden Boot race as Homeboyz look to stretch their unbeaten run to four and cement their dominance at the summit.
