Police have now gone for five matches without a win

Tough-talking Kenya Police FC Head coach John Bobby Ogolla has blasted his strikers for flapping clear cut chances in the wake of their 3-2 defeat in the hands of Wazito last Saturday at the Nyayo National Stadium.

Ogolla while expressing his frustration with the defeat blamed the the forwards for the shyness they have been displaying in front of the goal and the manner in which they conceded the three goals.

The loss saw the club that is in its debut season in top flight football extend its recent winless run to five matches leaving them loosely hanging just two places above the dreaded red zone.

The former Gor Mahia assistant coach also noted that opponents have been profiting from poor defending but remained confident of turning fortunes around within a short time.

"We have been losing matches out of the silly and avoidable mistakes we have been making. The team has been creating chances but it leaves me frustrated to see most of them go begging. We have also been gifting opponents easy goals but we will continue to work as a team so as to get back to the winning track," he lamented.

Given the calibre of guns Police acquired in the last transfer window, the club was expected to cruise but the recent run has left them under pressure as the returns of investments are taking long to come forth.

However, Ogolla says it is difficult to de-link the game from pressure and called on his players to work on the weak areas identified so as to achieve a respectable finish.

"Whether you win or lose, there will always be pressure. However I am used to working under pressure. Much as I am confident that we will get back to winning ways, the players have to step up too," added the former Kenyan international.
