In a statement shared on the club’s official platforms, Homeboyz confirmed that Masava sustained a knee injury during last weekend’s 1-1 draw against 12-time league champions Tusker FC.

The setback means the youngster will miss several upcoming fixtures as he begins his recovery journey under the supervision of the club’s medical team.

"The club can confirm that winger Glen Masava will miss the upcoming FKF Premier League fixture against Murang’a Seal after sustaining a knee injury.

Masava is set to be sidelined for several weeks as he continues with his recovery under the supervision of the club’s medical team. We wish Glen a swift and full recovery,” read part of the club’s official statement.

Masava, a product of Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA), has been one of the standout performers for Patrick Odhiambo’s side this season, featuring consistently in all matches since the campaign kicked off.

His box-to-box versatility in midfield have been instrumental in Homeboyz’ impressive run that has seen them top the standings.

The latest development comes just days after the Kakamega-based outfit received a massive boost with the return of captain Moses Mudavadi and defender Salim Murunga from injury.

However, losing Masava now presents a tactical dilemma for coach Odhiambo as the team looks to maintain its momentum in the title race.

The midfielder is expected to be out for at least two to three weeks, ruling him out of crucial fixtures against Mathare United, Posta Rangers, and KCB, matches that could prove decisive in Homeboyz’s quest for a maiden FKFPL crown.

In addition, goalkeeper Ibrahim Wanzala remains sidelined as he continues his rehabilitation following successful knee surgery earlier this year, with a return expected in 2026.

Homeboyz will now look to overcome the setback and extend their lead at the summit to 17 points as they chase history in the final stretch of the season.
