Emuria, who is currently at the summit of the clean sheet charts, alongside Kenya Police FC goalkeeper Job Ochieng, continues to impress with every single game.
The shot stopper once again played a key role in securing a barren draw for Bidco in their match against Mathare United last weekend, making crucial saves throughout the match.
Speaking to the press after his seventh clean sheet, Emuria attributed his impressive start to the team’s goalkeeper coach, Samwel Koko.
“After every clean sheet, the coach (Koko) demands another one from me, which has pushed me through. He wants his clean sheets.
He is even more thorough in training after we concede a goal, and so he has been pushing me harder to get better,” said Emuria.
Some of the top goalkeepers who have been trained by Koko include Harambee Stars duo of Bryne Omondi and Farouk Shikhalo, a matter that encourages Emuria.
“It is a big motivation that he has produced and trained top goalkeepers before, which is a challenge to me to work hard and become an even better goalkeeper
The game against Homeboyz, when we conceded three goals, was my worst this season. I did not expect us to lose in such a manner, and I even cried after the game,” added Emuria.
Bryne Omondi has six clean sheets to his name and joins Emuria and Job Ochieng in the top three as the race for the Golden Glove heats up.
Despite the good run, Emuria has also identified an area that he needs to improve in his game.
“I am currently working on ground balls, which I have been struggling with,” he disclosed.
Emuria will be seeking his eighth clean sheet when Bidco takes on Kariobangi Sharks in their next league match on Thursday, 18 December at Kasarani Annex from 1400 hrs.
