Match preview

Ghana are still well placed to qualify for the 2026 showpiece.

The last match was a shocking 1-1 draw against Chad, a match where they missed chances and conceded in the last minutes.

Ghana holds an edge in the head-to-head record, as they have won three of their last five meetings, drawing one and losing one.

Coach Otto Addo will need his side to fire from all cylinders, especially on the attacking front.

The Black Stars have performed exceptionally well at home, winning all three matches and conceding only three goals.

In Antoine Semenyo, Jordan Ayew, and Mohammed Kudus, Ghana have an enviable attacking setup.

Thomas Partey could be drafted back into the side in midfield with Mohammed Salisu in centre back, looking to provide a threat in the opposition box on set-pieces.

Mali under coach Tom Saintfiet, are still in the running for qualification, especially coming from a three-nil win against Comoros.

Mali have won three games, drawn three, and lost one.

They have scored eleven goals and conceded the fewest goals in Group I (four).

In their last five games, they have won two, drawn two, and lost one.

Coach Tom Saintfiet will be looking to get his team to string consecutive wins for the first time in six matches.

Mali have won two of their last five away matches.

Attack will be the key area Mali will need to work on.

Kamory Doumbia and El Bilal Toure will bear the burden of getting goals for Mali.

The key area in this match will however, be the midfield battle, as both sides have the quality in.

Whoever manages to settle early and dictate the proceedings centrally will have a chance of winning it.
