Match preview

Chad returns to competitive action for the first time in over five months.

They, however, played two friendly games against Kenya, drawing one before losing the return fixture back in June.

Coached by Swedish International Raul Savoy, the Les Sao face a Herculean task. In their last five games, CHAD have drawn three and lost two.

Already eliminated, Savoy's men will approach the encounter seeking pride rather than progress.

Rocked with player unrest over the past few years and a not-so-encouraging scoring home form, having failed to score in three of their last five home matches, the task proves even more difficult.

Key player Marios Mudimanje fell out with the federation, citing unprofessionalism.

Having started the season at Samsunspor and with two goals in three matches against his name, he will certainly be dearly missed.

Coach Savoy will, however, rely on Coton Sport goalkeeper Gabin Allambren, who has featured in the team's last 10 fixtures.

The lanky shotstopper will look to keep his team in the game with his good reflexes and exceptional claiming ability, to thwart the threat Ghana poses on corners and set pieces.

Defensive midfielder Mahamat Thiam will also be key in not only disrupting the Ghanaian rhythm in midfield, but helping the team progress with his good eye for a pass.

Ghana, under the tutelage of Otto Addo, will be brimming with confidence.

Their away form, however, will be a source of concern for them, having won two of the last five away games, losing two, and drawing one.

Coach Addo will rely on Bournemouth's in-form talisman, Antoine Semenyo, to replicate what he did when the two sides last met, scoring in the second minute.

The Bournemouth man has two goals and one assist for his club side in a positive start.

Mohammed Kudus will also be key for the Ghanaians. After his big-money move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Kudus has settled in well, getting two assists. He will look to provide the spark.

At the back, the Black Stars will look to rely on Mohammed Salisu, who will also provide the threat in the Chad half on set pieces, having netted the Black Stars' 4th goal when the two sides last met.

Key Pointers

1. Chad have lost 3 of their last 5 matches.

2. Ghana are on a 4-match unbeaten streak in the World Cup qualifiers

3. Ghana have seen all of their last 4 games end in over 2.5 goals

4. Chad have conceded 15 goals in the World Cup qualifiers.

Our prediction - This should be a stroll in the park for Ghana, given the gulf in class, with anything less than a comfortable Ghanaian win against Chad a major surprise.

Ghana to win and Over 2.5 goals
