Shaban joins Gor Mahia from Libyan Premier League side Al Anwar, a club he joined in February from another Libyan outfit, Al Hilal.
K'Ogalo have been one of the most active Kenyan sides in the transfer market, seeking coaches and players to bolster their squad following an underwhelming 2024/25 season.
The 21-time league champions missed out on both the league and the Mozzart Bet Cup, finishing second to Kenya Police FC and losing a cup final to Nairobi United, respectively.
In their post-mortem, one of the frail areas the club identified was the striking department, which was underscored by creative midfielder Austin Odhiambo emerging as the club's top scorer in the league with 12 goals.
Mozzart Sport has now confirmed that K'Ogalo have added Shaban to their fold. Shaban already arrived in the country and held his first training session with Gor Mahia on Tuesday, 2 September.
“We have signed Shaban, whom we expect to be our point man upfront and supported by the pool of our attacking players, including the two Ghanaians that we have also signed,” a source privy to the development told Mozzart Sport.
Mozzart Sport had equally reported on Sunday, 31 August, that Gor Mahia were in advanced talks to sign Shaban, who had met the club's deputy patron Eliud Owalo and chairman Ambrose Rachier in their recent trip to Uganda.
K'Ogalo were facing stiff competition for the Uganda Cranes striker from Al Hilal of Sudan, but the Kenyan club won the race for his signature.
The 28-year-old possesses international experience, having represented Uganda Cranes 22 times and scored two goals in the process.
The signing of the former KCCA striker comes after Owalo recently revealed that the club is looking for two strikers.
“Two more quality strikers, then the team is complete and ready for next season,” said Owalo.
Shaban is expected to compete for the point man role with Harambee Stars forward Felix Oluoch and Veron Ombima, who signed from Posta Rangers and Darajani Gogo, respectively.
