South Africa, meanwhile, return to the World Cup for the first time since hosting the tournament in 2010, and face a daunting challenge against a Mexican side ranked 45 places above them in the FIFA rankings. With Czech Republic and South Korea also in Group A, both teams will be eager to make a strong start to their qualification campaign.
