The Bavarians want to tie-up the English captain for a number of years

Harry Kane is a key cog in Bayern’s machine and the Munich giant is ready to do everything to keep the deadliest striker in European football in their ranks. Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl said as far back as a month ago that everything was ready to begin talks over extending Kane’s stay, which currently runs until June 2027. German outlet Sky Sports reported today that Bayern plan to offer Kane a new contract until 2028, with an option to extend it by a further 12 months.

According to Florian Plettenberg, there should be no problems in reaching an agreement, as the England international feels at home in Munich. The only remaining unknown is the length of the contract, and as per reports, the deal should be wrapped up within a few weeks. Even if there are delays, the job should in any case be completed before the World Cup. Since arriving from Tottenham in August 2023 for 100 million euros, the English striker has scored 119 goals and provided 30 assists in 126 appearances for the Bavarians. What worries fans of the Allianz Arena club is an inserted release clause of 65 million, but it can only be activated under so-called “strict conditions.” Namely, if Kane were to wish to change clubs, he could trigger the clause only if he informed club officials of his intention by January of this year.

As the chances of that are almost non-existent, it is certain that Kane will remain where he is, and any potential return to Tottenham or a move to Barcelona, as previously speculated, is off the table. After all, Kane is one of the main candidates to win the Golden Boot and was also nominated for the Ballon d’Or. It is hard to believe that anyone at Bayern would do something foolish enough to make Kane even consider leaving.
