Barca's young men with big dreams

Football fans usually don't like international breaks very much, as they feel deprived of watching the best leagues and enjoying high-quality football. However, sometimes even those periods have positive sides, as they provide a perfect opportunity for interviews with players whose opinions and stances supporters cannot hear very often.

Spanish media used the ongoing international break to talk to Barcelona's group of youngsters, and although they all spoke in separate interviews, Pedri, Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, and Ferran Torres each pointed out the same goal for the current season - winning the treble with Barca!

For Pedri, it's a very believable scenario.

"Right now, we are still alive in all three competitions, so why not? We should dream big, I think that's the best thing we can do, we are young and we have the ambition to win many titles," he said, claiming he would accept the UCL final against the Catalans' "archrivals" Real Madrid anytime.

"Yes, because that would mean we reached the final, so yes, of course, I'd go today if needed. I don't think you should be afraid of anyone, I'd go to a Champions League final every day," Pedri concluded, speaking for RAC1.

His younger teammate, Yamal, agreed with the "treble aspirations" but highlighted the UCL as the utmost dream, talking to Diario AS.

"It's a competition that has captivated me since I was a kid, ever since I heard the Champions League anthem on TV. Imagine coming home late on a Tuesday after training with the youth team, turning on the TV with my parents, and watching the European Cup. Well, it's something very special," Yamal said.

The central defender, Cubarsi, stated he considered Barca a favourite to win the elite European competition in the radio program El Partidazo de COPE.

"Well, we're now in the quarterfinals with the top eight, and we're all favorites, I'd say. At the same time I don't because each game is a world in itself and anyone can beat you and you can beat them," said the defender.

Finally, although a bit older, Torres (25) expressed his belief in the treble just like his younger teammates in an interview with Mundo Deportivo.

"I'm an "old-young" man; I'm twenty-five years old, but I'm still learning. I consider myself young, and if I'm a leader, I try to pass on everything I've experienced and help my colleagues as much as possible. We're a dream team, and we believe we can do it. We're still alive in every competition, and until we win or are eliminated, we'll believe in it," Ferran stated.

And truth be told, these young men are not wrong for firmly believing in their dreams. After all, Barca top the La Liga table and face Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey semi-finals (first leg ended in a 4-4 draw in Barcelona), while the next UCL challenge is embodied in the quarter-final clash against Borussia Dortmund.

These boys probably do not watch cartoons anymore, but they definitely follow one of Walt Disney's most famous quotes: "All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them."
