The Pharaohs cannot cope with another loss to Senegal

In 2021 AFCON grand finale, Senegal and Egypt clashed but the winner had to be decided after a penalty shootout. Last night, both African giants met again and the Lions of Teranga booked a one-way ticket to another AFCON final, leaving Egypt as losers once again. This time, the Pharaohs took the news really badly and complained in various ways after the game. Captain Mohamed Salah went to complain to the referees, while Marwan Ateya went further, accusing the officiating team of corruption by making a hand gesture as if handing out banknotes.

Coach Hossam Hassan was visibly annoyed. First, he was taunted by Senegalese fans, and was so angry that he pointed number 7 with his fingers at them, which represents the number of titles the Pharaohs have won in the competition. Then, he unleashed his fury about the organization of the tournament and the shortage of stoppage time by the referee.

"We didn't have enough added time to try and equalize. I don't understand why we were treated like this, especially considering there were ten substitutions in total during the match. There were many errors on the part of the referee. FIFA needs to intervene to ensure fairness in major tournaments like the Africa Cup of Nations" said Hassan.

Egyptian manager then complained about the organization, stating that his players had to travel nearly 800 kilometers from Agadir to Tangier, while Senegal players were already there, having playing all their matches in Tangier since the start of AFCON.

"What happened to our national team isn't fair. Playing just two days after the match against Ivory Coast, on top of having just arrived from a trip, while Senegal had three days of rest and is playing in the same city where they stayed throughout the tournament. Look at the number of days they rested. Imagine, they didn't change beds or hotels, unlike my players who came back from their trip and changed everything" he said.
