Iyanii, well known for his bangers including hit song Pombe and Furaha, is one of the renowned Kenyan Afro-pop artists.

Kenyan musicians have lately been curtain-raising Harambee Stars matches, and the 2021 Kenyan Music Awards winner will have an opportunity to perform in front of a mammoth Kasarani crowd.

Iyanii is expected to perform before the start of the highly anticipated clash and at half-time to soothe fans' pressure on the match.

The move by Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to incorporate musicians in Kenyan matches is part of their wider vision to increase fan experience in matches to make the game more appealing to various quotas.

The Tuesday 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier clash will be staged at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, from 1600 hrs.

Kenya goes into the match on the back of a 3-1 humbling at the hands of The Gambia on Friday, 5 September at the same venue.

Gambia scored three first-half goals through Sheriff Sinyan in the 12th minute before English Premier League (EPL) star Yankubah Minteh of Brighton & Hove Albion added a second in the 26th minute

Saudi Pro League-based striker Musa Barrow added the third in the 38th minute to complete the job in the first half.

Kenya's consolation goal came in the 81st minute through Ryan Wesley Ogam, who recently secured a move to Austrian club Wolfsburger AC.

Harambee Stars fans expressed their frustrations after the match, especially with the international players, whom they accused of posting underwhelming performances.

Head coach Benni McCarthy is now under pressure to give more chances to locally based players against Seychelles and hinted at making changes to the squad in his pre-match press conference.

Kenya's next 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier matches after the Seychelles clash will be back-to-back away matches against Burundi and the Ivory Coast on Wednesday, 8 and Friday, 11 October, respectively.
