The first half at the Emirates started in a rather quiet fashion, with neither side able to create any meaningful chances in the opening 10 minutes. Both Arsenal and Bournemouth looked to build attacks and find their rhythm, but the defenses stayed comfortable with no real threats on goal.
The game burst into life in the 17th minute — and it was Bournemouth who delivered the shock. After a move down the left flank, Christie played the ball to Truffert, whose low cross took a deflection off Saliba. The ball fell kindly to Kroupi, who reacted quickly and calmly slotted it into the net to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.

Arsenal responded just a few minutes later. In the 20th minute, Rice delivered a corner that found Havertz in the box, but his header drifted just over Petrovic’s crossbar — a warning sign for the visitors.
The equalizer finally arrived in the 34th minute. Following a Gabriel effort, the ball struck Christie’s hand inside the penalty area, prompting referee Michael Oliver to point to the spot. Gyokeres stepped up and made no mistake, firing a powerful shot past Petrovic to bring Arsenal level at 1-1.

The remainder of the half saw a drop in intensity, with no major chances for either side. Bournemouth held their own against the league leaders, matching them well across the pitch, while Arsenal will likely be satisfied to head into the break with the score level after going behind.
The second half began in a very similar fashion to the first, with both sides struggling to create clear-cut opportunities. The opening 20 minutes were cautious and lacking in intensity, as Arsenal and Bournemouth remained disciplined and compact. A moment worth noting came in the 65th minute, when Gyokeres found the back of the net — but his effort was ruled out for offside.
Just a minute later, Christie tried his luck from the edge of the box, but his attempt flew well over Raya’s goal.
Arsenal came close in the 68th minute with their best chance of the half up to that point. Declan Rice unleashed a powerful strike from around 30 meters out, sending the ball dipping toward the top corner, but Petrovic reacted brilliantly to get a touch and push it behind for a corner.
Then came the decisive moment in the 74th minute — and once again, Bournemouth stunned the Emirates. A beautifully worked attacking move saw Kroupi play the ball into Evanilson, who cleverly laid it off for Alex Scott. One-on-one with Raya, Scott kept his composure and slotted home to restore Bournemouth’s lead at 2-1, sparking wild celebrations among the away fans.

Arsenal nearly responded in the 79th minute after a mistake from Petrovic, who failed to deal cleanly with a cross and punched the ball straight to Gyokeres. However, from around 11 meters out, the Swedish forward couldn’t capitalize, missing a big opportunity to bring his side level once again.
In the 86th minute, Gabriel Jesus tried to beat Petrovic with a header — his effort wasn’t particularly powerful, but the visiting goalkeeper managed, with some difficulty, to tip the ball over the bar.
