Significant changes are happening at Emirates Stadium
While Arsenal fans hope for some massive reinforcements in the upcoming period, the club from North London is slowly but surely getting rid of unnecessary players. Nuno Tavares permanently moved to Lazio, Jorginho joined Flamengo, and Kieran Tierney returned to Celtic.
This group of three got another member, as the Gunners and Takehiro Tomiyasu mutually agreed to terminate their deal one year before its expiration. Hence, the Japanese's odyssey at Emirates ends after four years.

Deal expired in 2026 with option for further 12 months. Tomiyasu expected back from knee surgery in 4-5 months.

The defender joined Arsenal in 2021 from Bologna for around £15 million, but his spell in London was injury-plagued. Counting all his injuries, Tomiyasu missed almost two years (?!) due to problems with his muscle, knee, and calf.
He collected a total of 84 games for the Gunners, scored two goals, and won one trophy - the 2023 FA Community Shield.
On the one hand, Arsenal's squad is getting smaller, but Mikel Arteta's staff is getting new members. As the Spaniard's long-term assistant and compatriot Carlos Cuesta joined Parma to become a head coach for the first time in his career, Arteta needed a new associate and opted for a former Man United defender!
The tactician's ex-Paris Saint-Germain teammate and ex-Red Devil, Gabriel Heinze, is set to join the Emirates' crew to fill the gap left by Cuesta's departure.

As per The Athletic, Arteta spoke highly of the Argentinian when recalling his days with the Saints, so this move doesn't come as a surprise.
"The other inspirations were (Mauricio) Pochettino and Heinze, those two were next to me all the time, behind me, and they were guiding me in everything I had to do in my professional life," he said last year.
Apart from PSG and Man United, Heinze played for Newell's Old Boys, Valladolid, Sporting Lisbon, Real Madrid, Marseille, and Roma before retiring in 2014. Just a year later, he started his coaching career, in which he led four Argentinian sides - Godoy Cruz, Argentinos Juniors, Velez Sarsfield, and Newell's Old Boys - and the US team Atlanta United.
