After William Saliba recently signed a new deal, work is already underway to secure contracts for two more key players

Bukayo Saka once again proved his worth for Arsenal, netting a stoppage-time goal in the Champions League win over Olympiacos Piraeus to secure a 2-0 victory. The 24-year-old Englishman, currently under contract until 2027, is in the midst of negotiations for a new long-term deal, according to Talksport.

Following the club’s recent agreement on a five-year extension for William Saliba (until 2030), Saka is expected to follow suit, amid growing interest from other top European sides. Reports suggest the winger’s new deal could add at least three more years to his stay, with wages likely matching Arsenal’s current top earner, Kai Havertz (26), at roughly 15 million euros per year.

Manager Mikel Arteta recently commented on Saka’s future: “As far as I know, he is a player who is extremely happy and proud to be here. Everyone knows how important Bukayo is to us, so we hope we can make it happen.”

Saka, a homegrown talent, has repeatedly expressed his comfort at the club. Even after six years with the first team, he has shown no interest in leaving. Despite missing several months last season due to a thigh injury, he still managed 11 goals and 14 assists, underscoring his role as a key figure in Arteta’s squad.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have also opened talks with defender Jurrien Timber over a new contract. The Netherlands international has been rewarded for his strong performances, which have made him a crucial part of the team. Discussions are still in the early stages, but all parties appear committed to extending Timber’s stay beyond his current deal, which runs until 2028.

Timber joined from Ajax for 34 milion pounds in the summer of 2023. His debut season was disrupted by an ACL injury in the opening match against Nottingham Forest, limiting him to just two appearances. Fully recovered, he featured 51 times in the 2024-25 campaign and has continued his fine form this season, cementing his position as Arsenal’s first-choice right-back. With William Saliba already secured on a new five-year contract, the club is clearly prioritizing stability among its defensive core.
