Apart from Liverpool, there is no doubt that Arsenal had the best transfer window so far in England. The Gunners finally bought a typical striker (Viktor Gyokeres) and also strengthen the midfield with Christian Norgaard and Zubimendi. The team has multiply options for every position on the team but Mikel Arteta’s happiness didn’t last for long. According to The Athletic, Kai Havertz got injured and missed today’s training. The extend of the injury is not yet known, but the reports says that Arsenal is looking at the transfer market again, meaning that they expect Havertz to be out for a longer period.
The German international missed the second half of last season after contracting a serious hamstring issue during the Gunners' mid-season training camp in Dubai. That ruled him out of 18 matches across the Premier League and Champions League, before he returned for two substitute appearances in Arsenal’s final two league games. During that absence, midfielder Mikel Merino also operated as a No 9. This injury means that Mikel Arteta is back with the same problem – only one available striker. Gabriel Jesus is a long-term absentee having injured his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in January, and is not expected back for some time. Harverz is also important because he can cover multiple positions, from central midfield to false nine.
The Sun reports that the Gunners are after one of the Aston Villa’s best players Morgan Rogers. The youngster was named the PFA's Young Player of the Year at Tuesday and Villa do have problems with UEFA’s financial regulations but that’s why they sold both Leon Bailley and Aaron Ramsey to Roma and Newcastle and don’t intend to sell anyone. Other option is (still) Rodrygo from Real Madrid, who was on the bench last night against Osasuna while Brahim Diaz took his place. However, coach Xabi Alonso downplayed his absence, stating the game plan as the main reason.
