Martin Odegaard and Emi Buendia are seen as possible new additions
Tough times for Arsenal fans. After a stressful season which ended with no European football in 2022 (for the first time in 25 years), American owner Stan Kroenke wanted to join the infamous Super League, instead of firing both coach Arteta and sporting director Edu after a terrible season. The fans were furious and protested over his ownership, but the American is not going anywhere soon.
With no big changes coming up, and with both Arteta and Edu in their places to start the next season, Arsenal is all time low with the bookies, who have projected that the Gunners have bigger chance to get relegated than to win the Premier League! So, this season is ’make it or brake it’ for the Spaniard and the Brazilian. With such an embarrassing odds, the Gunners must make the right transfers and build a proper squad, capable of defeating the likes of Brighton and Burnley.
Sporting director Edu is currently looking for a creative midfielder to play with/instead of Smith Rowe, who has a bright future with the club. And today, the Brazilian found out that two potential targets could cost him over 12 billion Ksh. After a good loan spell in North London, Martin Odegaard would be tempted to come back and stay permanently at the Highbury. And with Zidane as a coach, it might have happened. But, the Frenchman has resigned and the new manager (Conte, Raul or somebody else) will first have to decide if he needs the Norwegian or not. If Odegaard is allowed to leave, the minimum fee will be set around 8 billion Ksh, according to Defensa Central.
With that kind of cash, and with no European football on the horizon, Edu will also be looking for a cheaper option. Emi Buendia from Norwich would apparently cost at least 4 billion, according to the Canaries sports director.
„If we do sell one, it's going to be a club record deal. It's probably going to start with a number three in front of it. That will give us great opportunities to maybe make the whole better as well. We're really relaxed on that front" said Stuart Webber to Mirror.
Ben Godfrey holds the current record for Norwich’s record sale following his 4 billion transfer to Everton last summer, so the Argentinian would be worth at least that much, but in reality, he will probably coast over 5 billion. Buendia netted 15 goals and added 15 assists as Norwich gained automatic promotion to the Premier League. According to transfer experts, Buendia would accept a move to Arsenal if the Gunners come calling.
