APS Bomet tactician Charles Odera has declared his team ready for the new season and he says the goal is to retain their top flight status
APS Bomet head coach Charles Odera says the team’s goal is to retain its top flight status as they prepare for their debut season in the FKF Premier League (FKF-PL).
The law enforcers earned promotion to the top tier at the end of last season after topping the second tier. They were promoted alongside Fortune Sacco although their elevation is a matter before the Sports Disputes Tribunal after NSL side, Murang’a Seal, that lost to Wazito FC in the playoff moved to court to challenge their promotion. The court has since directed that the two teams should not be included in the fixtures until the matter is heard and determined.
Christopher Raila has joined newly promoted, APS Bomet from Mombasa Elite.

They have nonetheless been busy beefing up their squad in readiness for the new season. Their new acquisitions include;
Mombasa Elite duo of Christopher Raila a utility defender who can also slot into midfield and burly striker Ingato Shuma. The team also raided the top flight clubs for Kariobangi Sharks pair of right-back John Omondi and goalkeeper Brian Olang’o. Both players parted ways with Sharks and inked deals with the club. Other top flight players are Stephen Wakanya and Evans Maliachi both from Kakamega Homeboyz.
Other new signings are Shabana FC striker Vincent Nyabuto, SS Assad central defender Omar Swaleh, and Mayenje Santos winger Steven Mulera. Bernard Kibet, a right-back also returns to the club after a season-long stint with APS Kitui FC.
The former Chemelil Sugar and Muhoroni Youth tactician has expressed confidence in his team and says the goal will be to avoid relegation from the top tier in their maiden campaign. The new season, according to FKF starts at the end of the month.
“Our main target is not even to win the league but to make sure we remain in the league for the next season and I am very confident we will. I have watched them in our pre-season matches and can attest they have what it takes to compete well at the top level,” he told Citizen.
