The midfielder has now made five appearances for Tormenta, three coming off the bench

Kenyan midfielder Tobias Otieno made his second start as Tormenta downed North Carolina 2-1 on Sunday morning in a USL League One match to get back to winning ways after stuttering in their last two matches.

Otieno played 10 more minutes compared to his first start last week, being withdrawn after 73 minutes for Christopher Heckenberg and Tormenta conceded six minutes upon his exit.

Before today's match, Tormenta had gone two matches without a win, recording a draw in a ten-goal thriller against Greenville Triumph where the former Gor Mahia player scored and losing to Forward Madison FC 2-1 last week.

Kazaiah Sterling scored both goals for Tormenta, one in each half. The first one came after just 27 minutes from the spot while the second came nine minutes to the final whistle two minutes after North Carolina had equalized.

Jaden Servania drew the visitors level 79 minutes in the game, but Sterling struck two minutes later to reclaim Tormenta's lead and bag maximum points for his side.

Otieno's first start came on the back of a fine performance in last week when he had come off the bench to score as Tormenta staged a comeback from four goals down to draw 5-5 with Greenville Triumph earlier.

With the win, Tormenta are third on the log with 24 points and face leaders Greenville Triumph next Sunday.
