Italian's coaching team, with Antonio Pintus leading the fitness section, has massive plans to prepare Los Blancos for the upcoming campaign
Pre-season training for Real Madrid will begin on July 5 and players can expect to see their preparation workload doubled as the coaching staff seek to reduce injuries and improve performance.
New head coach Carlo Ancelotti is wasting no time in planning for the season to come and he has been plotting some key physical changes with Antonio Pintus, team's conditioning coach.
The aim is to get the best out of every individual player ahead of a season where, as always, the club will be expected to compete on all fronts.
The idea is that more preparatory work equals better displays on the pitch and less time in the treatment room.
Due to the economic situation, few changes in personnel are expected. Therefore, by making the most out of the resources already available, Ancelotti will try to improve passed year's results.
Neither status nor reputation will excuse any player from not meeting the new, higher demands. Players will have individualised plans, but the expectations and workload will be set high for everyone.
Players will be subjected to daily monitoring in basic metrics such as strength, speed, resistance and flexibility.
To measure the progress and success of the new physical training regime, there will be tighter and more frequent controls.
Players' diets will also be reviewed and controlled, both within and outside the club's facilities, by relevant professionals.
Real Madrid suffered 59 injuries last season and cannot afford a repeat.
Many consider Pintus' arrival as crucial to the club's setup for the coming campaign.
Players who will be monitored more strictly by Ancelotti and his staff are Vinicius Junior and Eden Hazard.
The Italian has made his feelings about the Brazilian clear to club president Florentino Perez and chief executive Jose Angel Sanchez and Ancelotti strongly believes that Vinicius is a top level player.
By giving Vinicius confidence, peace of mind and a lot of work to do, Real Madrid manager thinks he can get the very best out of the Brazilian.
Vinicius needs to work on his composure and decision making in key moments, his main strengths are his pace and an ability to create chances out of nothing, but he needs to contribute with more goals.
Hazard and Ancelotti never worked together at Chelsea, but the new Real Madrid coach is perfectly aware of his abilities.
The main goal will be to integrate him into the squad and get him to the level we all know he can perform at after a disappointing first two years in the Spanish capital.
Hazard's quality isn't in doubt., it's more his work ethic that's been in question since he arrived at the club overweight.
The main question will be over his attitude and commitment to the cause, and whether the Belgian can produce for his club what he regularly does for his country.
If he performs well at Euro 2020, those at Real Madrid are sure he can get back to his best at club level as well. Los Blancos need the old Eden Hazard, once one of the best player in the world.
