Former Real coach appeared in public for the first time since leaving the club
His first public appearance after resigning from Real Madrid didn’t went well. Zinedine Zidane stayed away from public eye after quitting as coach for the second time and after writing the open letter to AS about reasons for his quitting. In the letter, the Frenchmen stated that "messages leaked to the media" from the club and that he felt that the club didn't give him the support he needed, but also critisize journalists' focus on "controversy".
And now, he was forced to appear in public, as he and his wife went to see their son Luca, who plays for Rayo Vallecano in their second division playoff final first leg against Girona in Madrid suburb Vallecas. Of course, camera’s were there and journalists too. One of them asked Zidane about the open letter published in AS, and the Frenchman seemed calm at first, but snapped at the reporter just seconds later.
"Are you going to keep asking the same silly questions? Your job is shameful” said annoyed Zidane.
"I'm not asking for anything else, I just want ..." the reporter continued before being cut off by Zizou. "I know you and you know me. The same thing always happens to us. Come here. Stop filming. Come and talk with me" Zidane said. He then took the reporter aside to speak further in private, away from the cameras.

In February, he demanded "respect" from journalists in one of his press conferences, and he spoke about their reporting in an open letter.
"I've done hundreds of news conferences and unfortunately we've spoken very little about football. Without meaning to criticize or teach you lessons, I would have liked it if the questions weren't always directed towards controversy, that we would have talked more often about the ball and above all about the players, who are, and always will be, the most important thing in this game" said Zidane.
