The winger turned full-back under coach Bruno, says he has adjusted to his new role and is loving the experience.
Kisumu All Stars winger Nelson Amunga has revealed good pre-season preparation and team cohesion as key factors behind recent impressive results for the side.
Otenga, as the team is popularly known, had a slow start in their opening two matches against Silbweti Leon's and Nairobi United, picking a draw and a loss respectively, but turned around their poor start by going on a three-match winning streak.
The Charles Bruno-led side is currently placed third on the log, three points off league leaders Mara Sugar FC, and they will be keen to close in on the millers when they take on Mully Children's Family (MCF) on Sunday.
"I am not surprised by the results we've recently posted because we've worked towards them. I would say we had one of the best off-season preparations, and largely the management retained the better part of the playing unit from last season's squad so our cohesion was not affected. I believe this has played a role in our good run," he stated
The winger turned full-back under coach Bruno, says he has adjusted to his new role and is loving the experience.
"When the coach approached me to change roles to the left back position, at first it was challenging but I quickly adjusted to my new role. I have found it interesting and love the new adventure. I am taking in instructions and adapting to every situation that comes with the new responsibility," added Amunga.
Amunga, who has a goal and an assist to his name, hopes his contributions will help inspire the Kisumu County-sponsored team to secure its season target.
"This season's league is more competitive than in the past and I think every goal and goal contribution will count. I am really looking forward to helping my team achieve what we have set out to do," he concluded.
Amunga will be hoping to steer All Stars to their fourth win of the season in round six of the National Super League fixtures scheduled for the weekend.
