The Moroccan star is sure to leave Fiorentina this month
Sofyan Amrabat seems to be on the verge of joining Liverpool rather than Manchester United or Atletico Madrid. Negotiations are currently underway between the English club and Fiorentina, as well as with the energetic midfielder.
As AD reports, reliable sources indicate that Liverpool is making significant progress towards finalizing the deal in the upcoming days. If it comes to fruition, Amrabat will achieve his goal of moving to a prominent European club, a desire he has held for a considerable period. The standout player for Morocco during the Qatar World Cup had previously rejected an offer from West Ham United. The Premier League club that defeated his Fiorentina in the UEFA Europa Conference League final had already accepted a $38 million transfer fee, but Amrabat wanted a bigger club.
The Moroccan star's impending move to Anfield comes as a surprise. The Reds were previously not among the interested parties. In contrast, Manchester United, where manager Erik Ten Hag views him as a strong midfield candidate, and Spanish club Atletico Madrid have shown concrete interest. Bayern Munich and Barcelona were also keeping tabs on Amrabat.
Following a protracted back-and-forth with Chelsea, Liverpool recently missed out on securing the expensive Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo. Similarly, Romeo Lavia opted for the London club too. Consequently, without the recently-departed Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Fabinho, Liverpool turned to the cheaper option of pursuing Amrabat.

During the past few weeks, Amrabat was omitted from Fiorentina's squad in the lead-up to the Serie A season. He was absent during pre-season matches against Newcastle United and OGC Nice while awaiting his departure. Given his pivotal role in Morocco's journey to the semi-finals of the last World Cup, there was substantial interest in the 49-time international.
He will get his dream move after all.
