Rangers boast of depth in the goalkeeping department as four goalkeepers will be fighting for game time.
Posta Rangers custodian Samuel Njau has declared his intentions of beating the competition offered by three of his colleagues and muscling his way to the first team in next season's league matches.
Njau who joined Rangers in September last year from Gor Mahia saw little game time in the past campaign thanks to the stiff competition in the crowded goalkeeping department.
Besides the dreadlocked shot stopper, the mailmen have three goalkeepers in Kelvin Opiyo, Brandon Obiero and the experienced Jairus Adira.
Out of the four, Obiero is the only new boy as he joined the club three months ago after cutting ties with Kariobangi Sharks.
Njau who attributed his limited playing time in the past term to recurring injuries said he was braced up for first team duties after spending the better part of the pre-season polishing his shot gathering skills.
"I can't afford to warm the substitutes bench in the new season. I caught most of last season's matches from the bench and terraces due to injuries and lack of match fitness. However, I am prepared to serve the team as the first choice goalkeeper. The competition from the rest of custodians is high up there but I am ready for it," he said.
The former Western Stima goalkeeper who reckons that the club will have the meanest defence in the league also tipped coach John Kamau to lead them to their maiden league title.
Rangers appointed the former national U20 head coach in August to fill in the void left by Stanley Okumbi who ditched the side early in the year.
"I have faith that Kamau will inspire the team to win titles. The team has adapted to his philosophy thanks to the prolonged pre-season. We head to the season fully prepared," added the former Ligi Ndogo player.
