“The leadership of Kagera Sugar Football Club has today terminated its contract with the goalkeepers’ coach John Waw Wasonga on mutual consent,” read the statement in part.

The club went on to wish him well in his future assignments.

“The management of the club would like to thank Coach John Waw for his great contribution to the club for the entire duration of his service. Today we have reached this agreement to terminate his contract in the wider interest of our club. The management wishes him all the best in his future endevours,”.

Waw thanked the club for offering him an opportunity and wished the struggling side well.

“I am grateful for the opportunity that they offered me. I enjoyed my time at the club and I leave with my head high, I wish the club well,” he stated.” I have a couple of offers on the table and we will see what happens in the next few weeks but for now I will spend more time with my family,”.
