The striker sealed a deadline move to the Coastal club from third tier side Young Bulls
Forward Alex Kazungu Mwalimu has picked from where he left in the third tier as he was on target over the weekend when Assad dismantled League debutants Rainbow FC 2-0 in an NSL fixture played at Ukunda Showgrounds, Kilifi.
Kazungu, a former Football Kenya Federation Division One top scorer with Young Bulls, rejected offers from Shabana FC and other second tier clubs for a season-long deal with the Sea Lions.
He made his debut on Saturday putting off a tiresome transfer window that saw the 24-year-old move on brink of collapsing before sealing a deadline day move, thanks to FKF Leagues and competition department head Doreen Nabwire.
Mwalimu, broke the deadlock in the 78th minute with a beautiful curler that sent the under renovation Ukunda Showground into a frenzy.
The striker was again in the middle of the action as he initiated a quick counter attack before moving to the other end to win a free kick that another debutant in Lazo Nangela converted for Assad second in the 86th minute to seal maximum points for the Ali Mwachaunga-instructed side.
He does not take this for granted and believes one can only get better when trying to fit into a new team and that won't be different with the 2021-22 FKF Division One Zone A top scorer.
"I feel motivated after opening my goal account in the NSL with Assad, the excitement was evident after that ball crossed the line and it made me realize I can also perform better in this league. I believe I am going to get better with more minutes under my belt," said the former Shabana FC target.
The forward further revealed that his target was to win the League's top scorer gong as well as help Simba Gee earn promotion to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League at the end of the current season.
"I have won three golden boots at the lower levels and I want to add this into my growing collection as I target a premier league move at the end of the season," he offered.
The net buster further pleaded with scouting and players agencies to locate him as he is ready to pen a deal with any representative firm that will enable him achieve his dream of turning professional and putting on the Harambee Stars colors.
"Football is evolving at a higher rate and all players need representatives to achieve their dreams therefore I also appeal to any player agency out there to come for me and help me realize my dream of turning pro," concluded the bald-headed striker.
